About the Event
This Art Journals series is an introduction to a whole new way to release emotions, embrace creative expression and self reflection in a safe, supportive community. Unlike many of the art therapy offerings this one lends itself to encouraging activities you can pursue at home. Weekly reflection is great but forming a daily practice is even better.
This series allows us to release negative energy, and feel more grounded and balanced. It’s important to know that these prompts are utilized to engage our creative and intuitive minds, not to learn specific art techniques. Think of your art journal like a rough draft, the work is usually done in less than an hour and is meant to convey a theme or emotion. The goal here isn’t to create masterpieces to hang on your walls.
WHO THIS IS FOR:
People who already journal, this could provide some new prompts and ideas for them.
Those that have never journaled but always wanted to.
Those that want to learn the difference between a sketchbook and an art therapy journal.
Anyone looking for ideas/prompts to share with clients, family members or friends as a way to increase creative expression and decrease stress and anxiety.
We can use altered books (old hardcover novels), and you can also use sketchbooks, journals or notebooks.
Basic art supplies (pencils, pens, markers, pastels, watercolors, tape or glue, scissors maybe a ruler.)\
VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON:
We know that not everyone is ready to meet in person, and you still deserve self care! Once you book your ticket, a team member will reach out to get you set up for either the virtual or in-person option.
